Black Women Directors is a digital library dedicated to highlighting the contributions of women and nonbinary filmmakers from the African Diaspora to the film canon. Black Women Directors started out as a Tumblr in 2015 and has been featured in and mentioned by For Harriet, Blavity, the British Film Institute, and The Guardian. The site was founded by Danielle A. Scruggs, a photographer, photo editor, and writer based in Chicago, Illinois.
